Mrs. Thompson was born on May 22, 1945, in Alto, Georgia, to the late John and Izora Myers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters: Brenda Gail Myers and Elaine Myers Manus; brothers: Marshall Myers and Hamp Myers; grandson: Daniel A. Allison.
Mrs. Thompson was of the congregational holiness faith. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a devoted homemaker.
Survivors include: her loving husband of thirty-one years, James L. Thompson, Alto, Georgia; daughter, Lora J. Wright, Cleveland, Georgia; sons and daughters-in-law: Jimmy D. and Johnnie Wright, Alto, Georgia and Jerry C. and Doreen Wright, Gainesville, Georgia; step-son, Jackie Thompson, Gainesvile, Georgia; step-daughter and step-son-law, Robin and Alan Porter, Gainesville, Georgia; sisters: Geraldine Nunnally, Cornelia, Georgia and Carol Liles, Baldwin, Georgia; sister-in-law, Joyce Myers, Demorest, Georgia; eleven and step-grandchildren; eleven great and step-great-granchildren.
A time of remembrance will be held from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM, Thursday, October 21, 2021, at the Whitfield Funeral Home and Crematory, South Chapel.
