(Cleveland)- A surge of voters during the last week of early voting has pushed the number of voters casting ballots, during early voting to just over 1700.
White County Chief Voter Registrar Lisa Manning said Friday afternoon, “ it’s been crazy.” She said the final numbers, 1565 people voted in person, and 221 mailed ballots were received for a total of 1,786 ballots cast. Around 800 voters cast early ballots in 2012.
One of those casting ballots on Friday was White County’s oldest voter 99 year old Charles Mann.
The early voting period has ended, there will be no voting Monday, but Tuesday all polling precincts in White County will be open 7 AM until 7 PM for registered voters to cast ballots in the SEC Presidential Primary.
