DAHLONEGA – The University of North Georgia women’s soccer team extended its winning streak to seven matches in a 3-0 win over Emmanuel Friday evening inside the UNG Soccer Complex at Lynn Cottrell Park.

North Georgia finally found the back of the net in the 40th minute after multiple saves by the Lion goalkeeper in the first portion of the match. Nikki Gomez cleaned up a pass from Bailey Vessell and Taylor Malasek to give the Nighthawks a 1-0 lead headed into halftime.

UNG got a goal from Taylor Malasek in the 60th minute to double the lead before Jazmin Adlam hit a shot from 45 yards out in the 66th minute to bring the match to its final score.

– The seven game winning streak is the first such streak since the 2018 season. UNG is outscoring their opponents 13-1 in this stretch.

– Malasek now has six goals on the season, tied for fourth in the Peach Belt and one off the leading group.

– North Georgia has now gone over 375 straight minutes without conceding a goal.

UNG will hit the road Wednesday to take on Lander at 7 p.m.
