(Cleveland)- Two Cleveland men have been recognized by the City of Cleveland for their action last Christmas Eve. During Monday nights city council meeting Shaka Cantrell and Reginald Cantrell were recognized for what Cleveland Mayor Shan Ash called a life saving act that deserves recognition for their courageous efforts, good citizenship and service to others.
Cleveland Fire Chief Ricky Pruitt said on December 24th, the two saw smoke coming from a residence on Hood Street, they kicked the door in and located the resident inside.
Shaka Cantrell is employed by the Twiggs County Sheriff’s Office, Twiggs County Sheriff Darren Mitchum and Chief Deputy Col. James Falk attended the city council meeting to support their officer.
Also special thanks was given to the Cleveland Fire Department, Council Woman Annie Sutton said, “ We really have some great guys.”
