(Cleveland)-  Hall County Sheriff’s office advises there is a major traffic delay on the north side of Gainesville.  Hall County Sheriff’s Office Spokesman Derrick Booth said sheriff’s deputies are currently on scene handling the detour.

Booth said, “We understand some sort of construction truck damaged/brought down a power pole.”   He says to expect heavy delays on U.S. 129/Cleveland Highway due to downed power lines north of Georgia State Patrol Post 6.

Hall County Sheriff’s Deputies are detouring northbound traffic to Lakeland Road and back to Cleveland Highway via Lakeview Street.  The southbound diversion is from Lakeview Street to Lakeland Road and back to Cleveland Highway.

Booth advises that the detour is expected to last into the afternoon.

Please use caution in the area and take alternate routes, such as Clarks Bridge Road,  if possible.
