(CLEVELAND) – The Truett McConnell University baseball team hosted Appalachian Athletic Conference foe St. Andrews University for the final game of the series inside the TMU Baseball Complex, where a walk-off three-run shot from Drew Johnston secured an 8-9 victory. TMU rises to a record of 14-6, 4-4 AAC, while the Knights fall to 7-7, 4-2 AAC.

PLAY-BY-PLAY
The Bears were slow to start as the Knights took an early lead with four runs in the first four innings (0-4). TMU responded with singles from Matthew RedmondCaleb Williams and Caleb Ramsey to load the bases. Sacrifice flies from Jacob Karvelas and Tanner Griffith pushed the Bears first runs across (2-4). The bottom of the fifth saw a Mikal Mascarello and Dylan Sargent single to move runners into scoring position, followed by a clutch Williams single to tie the game (4-4). The Knights gained the advantage with five runs on four hits but it was no match for the Bears (4-8). An electric ninth inning was sparked by a Jake Edwards hit by pitch and Karvelas two-run blast to left field (6-8). A double from Ethan Roberts paired with a Griffith single put the tying run on base. A game-winning three-run bomb to right field from Andrew Johnston secured the series win over the Knights with a final score of 9-8.

LEADERS
Sargent led the way offensively, going 3-4 at the plate while Griffith was 2-3 with one run, one RBI and two walks. Redmond was seen going 2-4 with one run while Williams was 2-4 with one run and two RBIs. Karvelas tallied two hits individually with three RBIs and one run, while Johnston recorded three RBIs. 

Pitcher Caleb Johnson recorded three strikeouts over four innings, while Andrew Fry recorded three strikeouts over one inning.
