Cleveland)- According to the 2020 U.S. News & World Report education rankings, Truett McConnell University (TMU) ranks as #51 in Best Regional Colleges in the South and #36 in Top Performers of Social Mobility for Regional Colleges in the South.
Best Regional Colleges
To be considered for the Best Regional Colleges ranking, schools are ranked according to their performance across a set of widely accepted indicators of excellence. Indicators include graduation and retention rates, faculty resources, social mobility, student excellence, financial resources, and other data.
“It is a testament to our faculty and staff to be ranked #51 as Best Colleges in the South–higher than all but four other Georgia colleges in this bracket,” said Dr. Emir Caner, President of TMU. “Knowing that this ranking is determined by factors including student-faculty ratios, graduation rates, and post-graduation employment, I am thrilled to see we are sending these students to a bright future serving our Lord.”
Top Performer of Social Mobility
Economically disadvantaged students are less likely than others to finish college. However, some colleges are more successful than others at advancing social mobility by enrolling and graduating large proportions of disadvantaged students through the assistance of financial aid through federal grants.
“We are thrilled to be ranked #36 for Social Mobility, a benchmark of how well TMU is doing with economically disadvantaged students,” said Caner. “This recognition, which ranks us higher than all but three Georgia colleges in this bracket, testifies that these students are excelling and graduating, by following the Lord’s call in their lives.”
“For Truett McConnell University,” added Caner, “our mission, to fulfill the Great Commission, occurs when we invest and send this generation to share Christ and serve others.”
