(CLEVELAND) – The Truett McConnell University men’s soccer team competed against, Appalachian Athletic Conference opponent, Milligan University Saturday for their first-ever game under the lights at the TMU Soccer/Lacrosse Complex. A scoreless first half showed TMU’s grit, but the Bears ultimately fell to the Buffalos 2-0, who remain undefeated on the season with their fifth straight win (5-0, 5-0 AAC).

PLAY-BY-PLAY

Milligan dominated the first period with 12 shots and ten corner kicks, but the Bears resilient defense kept the game scoreless (0-0) until the end of the half. It wasn’t until the 66th minute of the game that the Buffs saw the back of the net to put the first goal on the board (1-0). TMU gained momentum to take two shots on goal, but after taking nine more shots and earning five more corner kicks, Milligan scored once more in the 86th minute, which resulted in a final score of 2-0.

LEADERS

Junior goalie David Windmiller had multiple outstanding saves, totaling nine on the night and 40 on the season. Individually, sophomore Justin Hicks had two shots, one on goal, along with freshman Lucan Yates, who tallied a shot of his own.
