(CLEVELAND)- The No. 20 Truett McConnell University women’s soccer team hosted Appalachian Athletic Conference opponent Johnson University, where the Lady Bears outshot the Royals 46-1 to secure a 6-0 victory. TMU rises to a record of 4-2-1, 3-0 AAC, while the Royals fall to 2-4, 1-3 AAC.

In the first period, the Lady Bears scored their first goal of the evening from Lauren Bergevine, assisted by Nadiia Ivanchenko in the 16th minute (1-0). Quickly following, Ruffa Meger, assisted by Eliska Dvorakova, was the second goal of the evening (2-0). In the 34th minute, Kayla Boggess scored to send the Lady Bears into the half ahead 3-0.

In the second period, Nadiia Ivanchenko scored the fourth goal in the 59th minute (4-0). With stellar defense, the Lady Bears put up a fifth goal from Sarah Currey, assisted by Marisol Esparza in the 66th minute (5-0). The final goal came from Annabel Kessinger, assisted by Lindsey Fowler, to secure a 6-0 TMU victory.

LEADERS

Meger led the way with seven shots, two on goal, and one goal. Ivanchenko followed with six shots, three on goal, and one goal. Boggess rounded it out with two shots, two on goal, and one goal.
