(WALESKA, Ga.- The Truett McConnell University women’s basketball team traveled to face Appalachian Athletic Conference rival, Reinhardt University, where the Lady Bears fell to the Eagles with a score of 50-62. TMU falls to a record of 1-4, 1-3 AAC, while the Eagles rise to 4-2, 4-0 AAC.



PLAY BY PLAY
The Lady Bears were competitive from the start with a layup from Camilla Callihan and two consecutive jump shots from Alysee Dobbs. The Eagles quickly worked from behind to surpass the Lady Bears, going into the second quarter with a score of 9-10. In the second quarter, a pair of free throws from Dobbs and Re’Tavia Floyd, followed by a three-pointer from Floyd closed the margin. The Eagles quickly worked ahead, until a shot in the paint from Dobbs and another three pointer from Floyd sent TMU into the half trailing by three (25-28).

With both teams neck-and-neck, the Lady Bears tied it up with a shot behind the three-point arc from Chloe Williams. The Eagles propelled forward with shots of their own, but layups from Callihan and Kacie Williams kept TMU in the game. A shot in the paint from Dobbs closed out the third quarter with the Lady Bears behind, 41-51. In the final quarter, the Eagles worked diligently to create a large margin. Two successful shots from the free throw line from Tia Shelton gave TMU hope, ultimately not enough as the the Lady Bears fell 50-62.

LEADERS
Dobbs led the way with 13 points, going 1-2 at the free throw line and tallying six rebounds. Floyd followed with 13 points of her own, going 2-3 at the free throw line with four rebounds. Callihan recorded eight points, going 3-4 in the paint. Shelton tallied five points, going 5-5 at the free throw line.

The Lady Bears remain on the road as they head to Athens, Tenn. on Thursday, November 17 to face AAC rival Tennessee Wesleyan University. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.
