(OKATIE, S.C.) – On Monday-Tuesday, the No. 21 Truett McConnell University women’s golf team traveled to compete in the Monument Golf Oldfield, hosted by the University of South Carolina Beaufort, where the Lady Bears finished fourth out of 11 teams, with a final team score of 941 through three rounds.
 
No. 11 SCAD Savannah was crowned invite champions with a team score of 908, followed by Merrimack College who finished runners-up (922), and Eastern Florida State who finished in third (927). TMU was featured besting invite host, USCB, who received votes in the latest NAIA Top 25 Poll (952), No. 16 SCAD-Atlanta (953), RV Coastal Georgia (957), and AAC foe Reinhardt University (1015).
 
“The ladies continue to impress me playing on different types of golf courses,” said Head Coach Steve Patton. “This week we played in a coastal environment with stronger winds and a lot of water. We finished as the second-highest NAIA team in the field. We’re excited for a day off and we will start preparing for our next tournament at Chattahoochee CC in a couple weeks.”
 
Madison Panter once again led the way for the Lady Bears, finishing in 14th out of 65 after shooting an 81 in round one, cut off four strokes to shoot a 77 in round two and finished up with a 76 in round three. Mary Grace Davidson finished in 19th after shooting three straight 79s, followed by Audrey Grace Holder and Jala Stamey who individually tied for 23rd, with Holder shooting back-to-back 82 and a 76, and Stamey shooting an 83, 81, and 76. Sylken November rounded out the results for TMU tied in 26th, shooting a 77, 78, and 86.
 
Up next, the Lady Bears are back in action as they compete in the Brenau Golden Tigers Invitational on Monday, March 13-Tuesday, March 14.
