(CLEVELAND) – The Truett McConnell University women’s and men’s cross country teams are set to begin their 2021 seasons on Friday at the GMC Brickyard Invitational, hosted by Georgia Military College. The women’s meet is scheduled for a 5:45 p.m. start time, while the men’s meet is scheduled for a 6:30 p.m. start time.

Senior Ansley Cain and junior Savannah Campbell are amongst the core group of returners for the women’s team. Campbell was seen qualifying for the NAIA National Championships this past season. The Lady Bears schedule includes five total invitationals before the Appalachian Athletic Conference Championship in November, including a trip to Fredericksburg, Maryland, for the Hood College Invitational.

The men’s team will be returning senior leaders Seth Ledford and Owen Nobles, along with top competitor, sophomore Marco Flores. TMU has recruited four incomers to add to the teams overall talent. Along with the women’s team, the Bears schedule includes five total invitationals before the Appalachian Athletic Conference Championship in November, including a trip to Fredericksburg, Maryland, for the Hood College Invitational.
