(LAKELAND, Fla.)– On day two of the Southeastern University Classic, the Truett McConnell University men’s basketball team went face to face with tournament host, Southeastern University, and ultimately fell to a final score of 108-70. SEU extended their win streak to two and are now sitting at 7-1, while the Bears declined to a record of 4-5.

At the start of period one, SEU was first to make an appearance on the scoreboard but TMU responded with a Marlon Allen 3-pointer followed by a good jumper from Enocka Franky to capture the lead (5-2). Unfortunately, the Fire retaliated with a few good runs causing the Bears to work on defense, able to secure a large lead at the half (32-59). SEU continued to increase their lead into the second half and ultimately clinched the win with a score of 70-108.

Most notable, freshman Ty Briscoe and Franky led the Bears having shot double figures on the night. Briscoe tallied 16 points, along with five rebounds and five assists, while Franky individually had 11 points with five rebounds and one block. Allen had nine points and five rebounds, followed by freshman EJ Smith who had eight points. Fellow freshmen Cory Seitz had six points, while Bosko Norman had five points.

Up next, the Bears will face Florida College in their final game of the SEU Classic Saturday, Dec. 12. Tipoff at 4:00 p.m.
