(Cleveland)- The Truett McConnell University athletic department has announced the addition of a LED Ephesus Lighting System installed by Georgia Power for all outdoor athletic venues. The project is set to be completed by the middle of August 2020.

“What an exciting day for Truett McConnell University,” Athletic Director Jenni Shepard said. “This addition to our outdoor athletic venues will greatly improve the student-athlete and fan experience! Night games on campus will add excitement for faculty, student-athletes, parents, students, and fans, and the added flexibility for scheduling practices and games will allow student-athletes to spend more time in the classroom.

I would like to thank Dr. Caner for his continued focus on improving our campus and Dr. Graffagnino and Justin Coalley for their continuous hard work on this project. I am excited to see this project come to fruition as the lights begin to be installed at our fields in the coming weeks. This is a project that many never thought possible, but God continues to bless this University and our athletic programs and for that I am truly thankful.”

“After more than a decade of waiting, our student-athletes will return to campus this fall with a significant development – all three athletic fields on campus will be outfitted with new, professional LED lighting that will allow them to expand their ability to practice and compete,” TMU President Emir Caner said. “This far-reaching move will give the student-athlete the platform to better succeed in the classroom, by not missing classes, and outside the classroom, giving them the ability to hone their skills more extensively.”
