(Clarkesville)- Four people, three of them from Cleveland were arrested Sunday by the Clarkesville Police Department and the North Georgia Regional Drug Enforcement Office on drug related charges. In a press release Mitchell Posey, Commander of the North Georgia Regional Drug Enforcement office said, at approximately 12:04 a.m., Clarkesville Police Officers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle occupied by these subjects.
The investigation culminated in the seizure of methamphetamine, cocaine, marijuana, hydrocodone, Xanax, morphine, and diazepam. Arrested were 59 year old Keith Dupree Fortenberry, 53-year old Larry Edward Wood, 32-year old Billy Grant Burton all of Cleveland and 33-year old Michelle Rosine Scott, of Toccoa.
According to Posey, all four subjects are charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana, possession of morphine with intent to distribute, possession of Xanax, possession of hydrocodone, and possession of diazepam. The investigation continues.
The North Georgia Drug Task Force is a multi-agency unit that consists of the following Sheriff’s Offices: White County, Lumpkin County, Towns County, Banks County, Habersham County, Stephens County, Rabun County, along with the Department of Public Safety, and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
