(Helen)- White County fire and law enforcement remained on scene of an overturned loaded fuel tanker truck accident most of Wednesday, on Highway 75 north of Helen, near the Top of Georgia Airstream Park. The accident was reported at 9:18 AM and White County Public Safety Director David Murphy said, there was no injuries and no initial fuel spill.
According to Murphy the tanker was owned by Clipper Petroleum Company and was hauling 8,000 gallons of gasoline and 2,000 gallons of diesel. The company had to upload the fuel to another tanker and upright the truck, that process took most of the day.
Highway 75 was shutdown to traffic around 3:30 pm and remained closed until just after 7 PM.
Murphy advised that the company had a private hazmat team on hand do any clean up necessary.
