(Cleveland)- White County Fire Fighters quick response is again credited for saving a home from being completely destroyed by fire.

White County Public Safety Director David Murphy said in a press release, that at approximately 3:30 PM on Sunday, White County Fire with mutual aid from Cleveland Fire and Lee Arrendale Fire Brigade responded to 711 Old HK Wagon Road, in the eastern part of the county, for a residential structure fire.

Murphy said the first arriving units reported flames showing from the left main level and 2nd story of the structure.  Firefighters quickly made attack on the main and second floors extinguishing the blaze.

According to Murphy, the fire was contained to the laundry room area on the main floor and extension area in the loft.  Smoke damage was noted throughout the structure. Murphy said, “ No one was at home at the time of the fire, and the fire is under investigation by the state fire marshal’s office.”

Quick response by firefighters Friday is also credited with saving a home on Helton Road from being completely destroyed by fire.  The cause of that fire is unknown and under investigation by the state fire marshal’s office
