(Atlanta)- A team of White County Special Olympic athletes participated in the 2023 State Summer Games at Emory University, in Atlanta, this past weekend. Over 2,000 Athletes, Coaches, and Unified Partners from around the State were a part of the event with competition in Athletics, Cheerleading, Swimming, Gymnastics, Flag Football, Soccer, Table Tennis, Tennis, and Volleyball.
White County Special Olympics Coordinator Sharon Brown said our talented local team won a total of 15 gold and 1 Bronze. They competed in running events and javelin throw.
