EVANS, Ga. – Six University of North Georgia student-athletes were selected to the Peach Belt Conference All-Conference soccer teams the league announced Thursday evening at the PBC Soccer Banquet. Five players were honored from the 17-th-ranked women’s team while the men had one representative on the squad. Rachel VanHornbrought home the only major award of the night snagging the Select Sport Golden Ball Award for most goals scored in the conference this season.

Forward Rachel VanHorn, midfielder Sophia Matonak, and defenders Jessica Allen, and Megan Gil were all named to the First Team for the women, while Jacy Ramey was selected to the Second Team.

On the men’s side, Ivan Acimovic was the lone Nighthawk to be honored by the league despite UNG finishing second in the conference for the first time in school history.

North Georgia is the only school in the Peach Belt with both a men’s and women’s team in the semifinals in Evans with both set to play on Friday. The UNG men are set to face No. 3-seed Young Harris at 2 p.m., while the women will face No. 2-seed UNC Pembroke at 8 p.m., at Blanchard Woods Park.
