(CLEVELAND) – Four separate road checks Saturday night in White County resulted in several arrests. Sgt. 1st Class G.R. Harper, commander of GSP Post 6 in Gainesville, listed those charges. He said, “We made four DUI arrests, arrested three for suspended license, made one arrest of a wanted person, and made one drug arrest in conjunction with one of the DUI arrests.”
Troopers were joined by deputies from the White County Sheriff’s Office at the unspecified checkpoints around the county. Checks were conducted between 8 p.m. Saturday and 2 a.m. Sunday.
“This will be a continuous thing for us, and not just during Oktoberfest,” Harper said. “We’ve got to get those DUIs off the roads.”
