Scott Lomax, age 56, of Dahlonega, passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2022.
Scott was born in Hall County on September 13, 1966, to the late Clifton and Mary Lunsford Lomax. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Barbara Ann Tolbert. Scott was a 1985 graduate of Lumpkin County High School. He then attended and graduated from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. Scott was employed with the Georgia Forestry Commission for many years and came to work at the City of Dahlonega, where he retired. Scott had many close friends and will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his brother and sister-in-law Jerry and Debbie Lomax; brother-in-law John Tolbert Jr. all of Dahlonega; nieces and nephews Kevin and Nicole Lomax, Cassie and Justin Pritchett, Wanda Adams, Rhonda Tolbert, Nancy and Nathan Bagwell, Jason Tolbert; caretaker and girlfriend Stephanie Turner, family friend David Lomax and special friends John and Joyce Fields.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Friday, October 28, 2022, at the chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home. The Rev. Lyman Caldwell will officiate. Interment will follow in Dahlonega Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
