(Sautee)- White County folks woke up Wednesday morning and possibly reached for their blankets and comforters! Early morning temperatures around the county broke several all-time records, according to WRWH weather reporter Bill Kinsland.
The morning low temperature in Cleveland of 51 degrees broke the previous record low for the date set on July 30th, 2005 when the mercury bottomed out at 62 degrees. Bill said, Sautee Weather Station recorded a low of 52 degrees Wednesday morning, this broke the previous record low of 61 degrees set on this date in 2000. Helen recorded a low of 55 degrees at 7 AM. However this did not break its previous record low of 54 degrees set on this date in 1969.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service at Peachtree City say the abnormally cool and dry pattern, we have been in. will end as we move into the weekend as rain and warmer overnight temperatures are expected.
