(Cleveland)- The City of Cleveland has received confirmation from the Secretary of State that the recently ordered postponement of the March 24 election and the suspension of early voting did not include postponing qualifying or the upcoming Special Election for  Ward 2 City Council seat.

Cleveland City Clerk Connie Tracas said qualifying for that office will remain as scheduled and will begin Monday, March 30th.

Qualifying times will be Monday and Tuesday from 8:30 AM until 1 PM and from 2 PM until 4:30 PM. The final day of qualifying will be Wednesday, April first from 8:30 AM until 12 Noon. The qualifying fee for the office will be $117.

The special election will be held on May 19th.
