Phillip Whitlock, the youngest child of the late Oscar Whitlock and Myrtle Hunt Whitlock and baby brother to 6 brothers, the late Harold Whitlock, Tom Whitlock, survived by brothers Ricky Whitlock of Gainesville, Jerry Whitlock and Charles Whitlock of Cleveland, and Albert Whitlock of Jefferson. Phillip also had 6 sisters, the late Dorothy Priest of Gainesville, and the late Margie Bryan of Dahlonega and surviving sisters, Rosa Brackett, Patsy Foster, Betty Berry and Henrietta Abernathy all of Cleveland, Georgia.

Phillip was born September 26th, 1957 at the “Apple House” in Cleveland, Ga. Phillip married his childhood sweetheart, Libby Harkins Whitlock on October 19th, 1975 and were married for 45 years. Libby Harkins survives him along with 2 sons, Nathan Whitlock and Cody Whitlock of Cleveland, Ga, three precious granddaughters, Kindal Brooke, Kinleigh Reese, and Jaidyn Elizabeth, who were the joy of his life.

Phillip retired from Fieldale Farms Murrayville facility after almost 39 year of service. In 1974 at the age of 17, Phillip was saved at home in the presence of his loving mother, Myrtle, and his fiancé Libby. He was a member of Shoal Creek Baptist of Cleveland, Ga since and a member of New Vision Sunday School Class.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 2 PM Friday September 4th, 2020 at Shoal Creek Baptist Church. The Rev. Doug Merck, Rev. Stacy Dyer, Rev. Jesse Gibson and Dr. Joe Vernon will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 PM Thursday, September 3rd, 2020 and Friday September 4th from 12-1:30 PM at Barrett Funeral Home.
