Pauline Gunn, age 77, of Demorest, Georgia, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 17, 2021.

Mrs. Gunn was born on June 16, 1943 in Gaston, North Carolina to the late Vaughn and Winnie McCallister Mathis.   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughters, Teresa Renee Gunn and Donna Lynn Gunn Cooper; son,, Johnathan Darrell Gunn, and her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Roy and Ola Mae Gunn.  Mrs. Gunn attended Bethel Temple  Church.  She was a loving wife and mother and loved spending time with her adopted grandson.  Mrs. Gunn also loved spending time outside working in her flowers.  Mrs. Gunn was a retired employee of Johnson and Johnson with seventeen years of loyal and dedicated service.  

Survivors include her loving husband of fifty-nine years, Johnny Gunn, Demorest, Georgia; son, Alan Gunn, Demorest, Georgia;  son-in-law, Richard Cooper, Baldwin, Georgia;  sister, Ophelia Bickham, Odessa, Texas;  sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Evelyn and Tommie Lewallen, Demorest, Georgia and sister-in-law, Dianne Gunn, Demorest, Georgia;  brother, Kevin Mathis, Kings Mountain, North Carolina;  adopted grandson, Wyatt Tanksley;  several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am,  Wednesday,  January 20, 2021 from the Bethel Temple Church with Bishop Ronald Wilson and Rev. Scott Ledbetter officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Rev. Larry Lingafelt officiating.  

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel.
