Patsy Grindle Bryan, age 74 of Murrayville, passed away Friday, November 20, 2020, surrounded by family and friends.

Patsy was born November 18, 1946, in Dahlonega to the late L.D. and Lucille Clark Grindle. She lived in the Mt. Zion Community of Lumpkin County her entire life. Patsy first attended Eastside Elementary School near her home. For grades 7-12, she went to Dahlonega and graduated from Lumpkin County High School in 1964 as an honor graduate. She grew up on the family farm and her daddy knew she had no interest in farming. Her parents supported her interest in becoming a teacher. Patsy attended Berry College in Rome, GA, and graduated from there in June of 1968 with a B.S. Degree in Home Economics Education. After graduation, she married Alvin Bryan on July 13, 1968. In August of 1968 she began work in White County as a Home Economics Teacher, she would remain in White County School System until 2000 completing 32 years in the profession. After retirement, she became an active member of GREA (Georgia Retired Educators Association). Patsy was an active member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church #2 and Mt. Zion Goodwill Circle. She taught Sunday School and Bible School and served in other offices.

Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Alvin Bryan; daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Ben Burford; grandchildren, Carter, Bella, and Jackson Burford; special friend, Melissa Nichols; brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Sharon Grindle; sister and brother-in-law, Sandra and Johnny Smith; sisters-in-law, Wylene Grindle, Beth Grindle, Elaine Anthony; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Lee and Charlotte Bryan; Jerry and Barbara Bryan.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Monday, November 23, 2020 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church #2. The Rev. Lyman Caldwell, Rev. Les Fuller, Rev. Lance Fuller, and Rev. Stephen Gerrells will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 3-6 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
