(Clarkesville)— North Georgia Technical College announces graduation for spring and summer semester 2020 graduates will be drive-thru ceremony celebrations on Wednesday, Aug. 5, between 9 and 11 a.m. on the Clarkesville campus and 6 to 7 p.m. on the Blairsville campus.
“We certainly did not want to cancel graduation for these students as they deserve to be recognized and celebrated for their hard work and exceptional achievement,” said NGTC President Dr. Mark Ivester. “Each student will be individually recognized as they receive their diploma. We are looking forward to having a very festive occasion that will be one for the history books of North Georgia Tech. We want to make sure everyone stays safe during these unusual times, and that the health of our students, faculty and staff is always our first priority.”
Graduates of spring and summer semester 2020 will receive an email regarding instructions for participating in the celebration on either campus. Participating graduates will receive special surprises throughout the drive-thru course and will be cheered on by faculty and staff members in attendance.
Graduates are asked to bring one car of family or friends and decorate the car in celebration of graduation. The entrance for the Clarkesville campus drive-thru ceremony will be from North Loop Road off of Highway 197 North. A rain date for the drive-thru graduations is planned for Monday, Aug. 17.
