Mrs. Irene Conner Anderson, age 92, of Dahlonega, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, November 30, 2021. She was born on May 14, 1929, in Gainesville, Georgia to the late Dick Conner and the late Dovie Hughes Conner. Mrs. Irene will always be remembered as a dedicated mother and church member. She worked tirelessly to provide a great home for her family. She was passionate about doing the Lord’s work and was the oldest female member of Cavenders Creek Baptist Church, with her membership dating back 73 years. She was a charter member of Cavenders Creek Goodwill Circle as well as the Bake & Sew Club. Through these programs, as well as many others, Mrs. Irene did many projects to help better her community. In her spare time, she could often be found sewing, quilting, baking, or working in her garden. She will also be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. 

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 72 years, Loy Edward Anderson; son, Stanley Wayne Anderson; siblings, Eston (Pearl) Conner, Lois (Stuard) Sullens, and Valerie (Ralph) Farr; and brother-in-law, L.G. Mullinax.

She is survived by her loving daughters, Martha Anderson Singleton and boyfriend Win Crannell, and Laura (Rick) Allen of Dahlonega; daughter-in-law, Anita Thacker; siblings, Bobbie Mullinax and Glenn Conner; grandchildren, Leslie Francisco and Conner Allen; and great-grandchildren, Liam Cole, Serena Cole, and Jillian Francisco. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends, as well as her beloved Cavenders Creek Baptist Church family. 

Funeral Services are scheduled for Saturday, December 4, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Cavenders Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Stephen Adams officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:30 PM until the service hour. Also, Mrs. Irene will lie in state at the funeral home on Friday, December 3, 2021, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. 

The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to everyone who has had a part in the final days of Mrs. Irene’s life, especially her special friend and caregiver, Deb Page, as well as the staff of the Hospice of Northeast Georgia.
