Barrett Funeral Home of Cleveland announces the death of Mrs. Bonnie Marie Pontiere Shirley, age 84 of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and Cleveland, Georgia. Bonnie passed away Friday,
November 6, 2020 in Myrtle Beach.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00pm, Saturday, November 14, 2020 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Devin O’Kelley officiating. Interment will follow in Gateway Memory Park.

Bonnie was born on June 21, 1936 in Dent, Minnesota to the late Kenneth Green and Alice Jenne Green. In 1947 , Bonnie moved to International Falls, Minnesota, where she lived for some ten years, later she moved to Minneapolis before moving to Miami Beach, Florida, where she would work for some 30 plus years at Mt. Sinai Hospital , earning the title of Director of Pathology Records. Later she would retire to White County where she would own and operate Mountain Rock and Gem, a gift shop that would offer specialty jewelry.

Bonnie will be fondly remembered as a strong woman who enjoyed the simple things in life such as making jewelry and enjoying her family. In addition to her parents, Bonnie is preceded
in death by her husband’s Harry Pontiere and Wayne Shirley as well as sister Linda Raines and grandson, Zachary Paul Ashe.

Survivors include her daughter, Kim Pontiere of Myrtle Beach, bothers, Paul Green of Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin and Mike Green of Greer, South Carolina, grandchildren, Chanel Pontiere and Amanda Ashe, both of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina as well as great grandchildren, Preston Pontiere, Jayla Thomas and Jayden Ashe.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, beginning at 12:00 Noon.
