Mr. Shane Reuben Griffin, age 42, of Cleveland, peacefully passed away Sunday, September 5, 2021.  

A native of Cleveland and a 1997 WCHS graduate, took his last breath and gained the hand of Jesus.  He was a member of Chattahoochee Baptist Church and of the White County Special Olympics/Athletes.  He was employed by Pinky Black and loved being “Uncle Shane.”  

He was preceded in death by grandparents, Gordon and Fannie Wade and Lester Griffin and Agnes Dubois; stepfather, Farrell McCallister; aunts and uncles, Doris Pilgrim, Dorothy and Guy Gerrin, Lamar Allen, Ricky Gerrells, and David McCallister, just four days after Shane’s passing, his mother, Sandra McCallister joined him in Heaven. 

Shane is survived by his father, Clifford (Vickie) Griffin; sister, Amy (Dale) Greenway; stepsister, Sherry Gailey; nieces and nephews, Faith (Thomas) Davis, Molly Dixon, PearlRuth Moody, Heidi Ryan, Linton Adams, Ethan Adams, Cordell (Destiny) Adams, and Hank Griffin; aunts and uncles, Christine Allen, Velda Gerrells, Frances McCallister, Peggy (Robbie) Nelms, Bette Jo (John) Hickman, Shelia (Victor) Hahn, Thomas Wade, and Butch (Nancy) Stark.  He had several great-nieces and nephews as well as many cousins.  Shane was a joy and blessing to his community, whom he loved so very much.

Joint funeral services for Shane Griffin and Sandra McCallister will be held at 2pm Monday, September 13, 2021, at the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Chris Anderson, Bishop Kevin Magness, and the Rev. Paul Flynn will officiate. Interment will follow at Union Grove Congregational Holiness Church Cemetery with the Rev. Bobby Ivester officiating. 

The family will receive friends for both Shane and Sandra from 11AM – 2PM Monday at the funeral Home.
