Maryln Berry Brown, age 81 of Clarkesville, passed away quietly with her children at her bedside as our sweet Jesus beckoned her home on October 7, 2020.

Born on July 8, 1939, Maryln was the daughter of the late Dudley D. and Mary Griffin Berry and wife of the late Herman James Brown.  At her core, Maryln was servant-hearted, consistently putting others’ needs in front of her own. Even as a young woman, she committed herself to three jobs to make sure her kids were cared for. All the while, still taking the time to get to the special moments for her family.

Maryln’s career exemplified her love for children as she drove a school bus for over 35 years.  She began her career with Fairfax Christian School driving the school bus to help cover tuition for her two oldest children.  She quickly fell in love with the profession and completed over 25 years with Fairfax County Public Schools as a school bus driver, trainer, and supervisor. In 2007 Jim and Maryln moved to Clarkesville, GA to enjoy retirement, serving their community.  Quickly established as an active member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, Maryln found her niche as a “Girls In Action” leader, touching the lives of young girls as they grew their relationship in Christ. Maryln loved Jesus and loved to worship!

Marilyn is survived by her children and spouses: daughter Marva Griffith and Gene of Clarkesville, GA, son James Brown and Kitty of Woodford, VA, daughter Marcye Brown and Penny of Moncks Corner, SC, 12 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Celebration of life services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, October 17, 2020, at Hillside Memorial Chapel with Rev. Tommy Stowe and Dr. Craig Ward officiating.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, October 16, 2020, from 6-8 PM.
