Barrett Funeral Home of Cleveland announces the death of Mrs. Martha Nell Gooch, age 81 of Cleveland. Mrs. Gooch entered Heaven’s gates on Saturday, February 13, 2021. 

Mrs. Gooch was born in Hall County on April 18, 1939 to the late Walter Powers and Laura Bell Peck Powers. She retired from Friendship Healthcare after twenty three years of caring for others.  

Martha married the love of her life, Garland Gooch, Jr in 1957, and they are now together once again. Together they built a family and life they loved, and left an everlasting impact on the lives they touched.

Martha was a loving mother and grandmother, she was a remarkable cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family. Her greatest love was her Lord and her family. She had a kind and gentle soul; she had a loving and generous heart, and was always giving to others. She was a longtime and dedicated member of Mossy Creek Baptist Church. 

Mrs. Gooch is preceded in death by her husband Garland Gooch and son, Randy Gooch. 

Survivors include her daughter, Elaine Loggins, Cleveland; daughter, Tammy Fuller, Cleveland; Son and daughter in law. Michael and Rita Gooch, Cleveland son, Bobby Gooch and Latisha Reed , Cleveland. 

Grandchildren, Stoney and Candace Smith, Stacy and Emily Gooch, Amanda and Eric Nix, Amy London, Megan and Justin Walker and Shane Gooch; fourteen great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren as well as several nieces, nephews and other relatives 

She will be missed by all that knew and loved her. 

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00pm, Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at Mossy Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Irvin, Rev.Calvin Gooch and Rev. Donald Fuller officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. 

Visitation will be held on Monday from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm

The family requests that masks be worn and that those visiting follow social distancing guidelines.
