(Cleveland)– A barn in White County was destroyed in a lunchtime fire today (Saturday), but quick actions by firefighters kept the fire localized to a single structure.
In an email today (Saturday) from White County Public Information Officer Bryce Barrett, White County Dispatch received a call shortly after 12:00 pm of a fully involved barn fire that was nearing other structures.
White County Fire Service was first on the scene, and supported by mutual aid from the City of Cleveland Fire Department, acted swiftly in containing the blaze, preventing it from spreading to a nearby chicken house. Within minutes of the initial call, fire personnel achieved knockdown and continued to extinguish hotspots.
The fire resulted in a total loss of the barn. The CERT Rehab truck was also dispatched to aid first responders in combatting the fire.
