(Cleveland)- Multiple police agencies last Sunday completed White County’s largest seizure of fentanyl. As a result, they arrested 34-year-old Joshua McLaughlin, of Canton, and 49-year-old Thomas Garnsey of Dawsonville.

Authorities seized more than 168 grams of fentanyl, 500 grams of methamphetamine, 60 grams of cocaine, 14 grams of ecstasy, 103 grams of Alprazolam. Additionally, police confiscated black tar heroin, crack cocaine, marijuana, and over $10,000 in assets. The total street value of the drug seizures was approximately $73,000.

Trent Hillsman, Georgia Bureau of Investigation Special Agent in Charge of the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office in Cleveland said in a news release McLaughlin was charged with trafficking methamphetamine, trafficking cocaine, possession of fentanyl with intent to distribute, possession of heroin with intent to distribute, possession of ecstasy with intent to distribute, possession of Alprazolam with intent to distribute, and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

Garnsey was charged with trafficking methamphetamine.

Hillsman said this is an ongoing investigation.
