(CLEVELAND) – The Truett McConnell University women’s volleyball team hosted Appalachian Athletic Conference foe Reinhardt University inside the Harris Athletic Complex, where the Lady Bears fell to the Eagles after battling four tough sets (25-21, 13-25, 16-25, 19-25). TMU falls to a record of 10-12, 5-5 AAC, while the Eagles rise to 9-0, 7-3 AAC.

PLAY-BY-PLAY

In the first set, the Eagles were first to attack, but a five-point rally gave TMU an advantage. Both teams were neck-and-neck, until consecutive kills from Jordan Roberts created a gap. Two more kills from Roberts, a kill from Katie Williams, and a kill from Ranavia Neal increased the margin, where a kill from Williams secured set one (25-21). In set two, the Eagles were first on the board, but TMU did not settle. A service ace from Emma Boland and kills from Neal and Leah Bowen kept the Lady Bears on the Eagles’ tail. A late eight-point rally from the Eagles left TMU behind, ultimately ending in a 13-25 loss.

In the third set, both teams were aggressive from the start, where kills from Sonya Silecky and Neal gave TMU an advantage. The Eagles continued to work ahead but kills from Williams and Bowen worked to close the gap. Ultimately, the Eagles late three-point rally set the Lady Bears to fall, 16-25. In the final set, TMU took an early lead, where a four-point rally with kills from Neal created a small margin. The Eagles were not satisfied and continued to push with an eight-point rally to secure the lead. A kill from Williams was not enough, leaving the Lady Bears to fall 19-25.
