(Cleveland)- The Georgia Department of Labor continues to have good news about the job market in the area, the latest unemployment figures released Thursday shows White County preliminary unemployment rate in July was 3.1 percent, the revised June rate was 3.2  percent. 

The labor department said in July the labor force was 16,782 of those 16,267 were employed, while 515 were unemployed.  

Georgia Labor Commissioner Mark Butler said  the Georgia Mountains region set a record in July for labor force and employed residents.   

The July unemployment rate fell to 3.4 percent – the lowest among all 12 regional commissions in Georgia.
