Mr. Johnnie Delmos Sullens, age 87, of Cleveland, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 21, 2022.

Mr. Sullens was born in Hall County on June 1, 1935, to the late Clarence Britton and Nancy Isabelle Sullens. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant daughter Sissy Sullens, son-in-law Ray Cordell, brothers Horace Sullens and Dewitt Sullens, sisters Nancy Barlow, Martha Hudson, Marie Blitchington, and great granddaughter Cierra Duckworth. Mr. Sullens was a loving husband and father. He was endeared by his grandchildren, who called him “Papa,” and his great-grandchildren, who called him “Old Papa.” He was a faithful member of Solid Rock Baptist Church. Mr. Sullens will be greatly missed.

Missing him most will be his wife, of sixty-five years, Wilma Sullens, Cleveland; his children, Judy Cordell, Lula; Scott and Annette Sullens, Commerce; Phillip Sullens, Cleveland; Johnny and Leah Sullens, Cleveland; Allen and Susan Sullens, Cleveland; Terry and Tanya Sullens, Cleveland; Shirl Sullens, Murrayville; siblings Jim Sullens, Brookton; Clarence and Betty Sullens, Cleveland; his grandchildren Christy Cordell, Melisa Hernandez (Adam), Jeremy Cordell (Ashley), Amanda Benefield, Jonathan Sullens, Destiny Crane, Tamika Sullens, Felicia Hines (Shawn), Phillip Sullens (Ashley) Makayla Sullens, April Fisher (Michael), Brittney Devincentis (Brian), Grace Sullens, Alisa Weakley (David), Jennifer McCalister (Shawn), Jessica Moon (Steven), Caity Sullens, Ashley Oppy; forty great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at Solid Rock Baptist Church. The Rev. Kevin Holman, the Rev. Ronnie Fuller, and the Rev. Mason Taylor will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with the Rev. David Weakley officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
