Jerry Spivey, age 71, of Homer, Georgia passed away on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at his residence following an extended illness.
Mr. Spivey was born on July 23, 1951 in Gastonia, North Carolina to the late Oscar Lloyd and Margret Heard Spivey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Meeks Spivey; son, Jeremy Spivey; daughter, Jessica Spivey; and brother, Randy Spivey.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Sharon Spivey, of Homer; sister, Sharon Turpin, of Homer; daughter-in-law, Sherry Spivey, of Baldwin; grandchildren, Julie Spivey, Will Spivey, and Paige Spivey; and two great-grandchildren.
Graveside Services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at the Mount Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Chad Holcomb officiating.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, May 15, 2023 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel.
