Janette Westmoreland Turner, 87, was welcomed home to be with her Lord and Savior on the morning of Friday, June 11, 2021. A lifelong resident of Cleveland, Georgia, Janette was born to the late Aaron and Marie Price Westmoreland on July 24, 1934. After graduating from Cleveland High School, Janette married the love of her life, Bill Turner, with whom she spent 44 years until his passing in 1995.

Janette, affectionately known as Nanny Net, was a dedicated and beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She very much enjoyed tending to her garden, as well as baking and cooking for her loved ones. Known for her homemade chicken and dumplings, no one left her kitchen hungry or without a kind word. She was a longtime member of Mount Yonah Baptist Church and served as the president of the Baptist Women, taught  Sunday School, sang in the choir and supported the Acteens program. She never left her home without her hair and makeup fixed to perfection.

Janette loved nothing more than her family and reminded them of that each day. She is survived by her son, Mike Turner, and wife Diane; daughter Laura Turner Chastain and husband Greg; grandchildren Nathan and wife Jennifer Turner, Kristen and husband Nick Richardson, Chelsey and husband Jason Hogan, Jordan and wife Kelsey Chastain, as well as Janet Elliott. She is also survived by great-grandchildren Brayden and Emma Grace Turner, Avery and Sawyer Richardson, Olivia Hogan, Austin Sconyers, and brother Robert Westmoreland.  Also surviving are two sisters-in-law, Lillian Westmoreland, Callie Copelan and brother-in-law, Royce Martin.

In addition to her husband and parents, Janette is preceded in death by beautiful infant granddaughter Shanna Nancy Turner, brothers James, Julian, Julius, Jewell and Tommy Westmoreland and sister Louise Westmoreland Martin.

Her family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to her wonderful caregivers, Tracy Edwards, and the staff at Chelsey Park Health & Rehabilitation.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Sunday, June 13, 2021, at The Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home.  The Rev. Doug Merck, the Rev. James Harper, and Mr. Mike Turner will officiate.

Interment will follow at Mt. Yonah Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home.
