Iva Lea Hooper Robinson, age 83, of Cornelia, Georgia went to her Heavenly Home on Saturday, October 1, 2022.
Mrs. Robinson was born on January 17, 1939, in the Batesville Community of Clarkesville, Georgia to the late Daniel and Hazel Wood Hooper. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Johnita Lynn Robinson; granddaughter, Carlye Lynn Elrod; brothers, Lamar Hooper, J.D. Hooper, Gerald Hooper; and an infant brother, Don Odell Hooper.
Mrs. Robinson was a graduate of North Habersham High School. After high school, she worked for Turpen’s Drug for many years, which later became Clarkesville Drug. She then later retired from K-Mart. As Iva Lea grew up she was a member of Providence Baptist Church in the Batesville Community. Later, she joined and was currently a member of Community Baptist Church in Mt. Airy. She was an avid Braves and Georgia Bulldawg fan. Iva Lea enjoyed spending time with her family and preparing many meals for them over the years.
Survivors include her loving husband of 63 years and married for 58 years, SC Grant Robinson, of Cornelia; daughter and son-in-law, Tina Robinson Kotecki and Ken, of Suwanee; daughter, Bridgett Kinsey; sister, Gertrude, of Batesville; sisters-in-law, Ruth Hooper, Ruthleen Hooper; grandson, Codye Elrod; three great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel with Rev. Robert Clark officiating. Interment will follow in the Yonah Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
