Cleveland – Portions of Hulsey Road north of Cleveland will be closed next week for the final completion phase of the West Cleveland Bypass.

The Sheriff’s Office is reminding White County residents and travelers that from March 17th through the 24th, the section of Hulsey Road from the area of Cantrell Road to Helen Highway, will have some lanes closed for a period of time to complete construction in the area.

The newly finished lane on Hulsey Rd. that will eventually be the westbound lane will open up, so travel will be possible through the road, however, access to the current entrances into the Sheriff’s Department will not be accessible.

A detour will be in place if you need to get to the Sheriff’s Office during the closure. Drivers will enter the parking lots of the White County Senior Center and the White County Board of Commissioners buildings from Helen Hwy, and travel behind those buildings to gain access to the Sheriff’s Department (see photo).

Please be aware that there are some sharp turns in this detour and the possibility exists to meet other drivers or pedestrians, and drivers are asked to please use caution and courtesy when traveling the detour and meeting other drivers and pedestrians.
