AUGUSTA, Ga. – University of North Georgia cross country runner Bree Hammond was named the Peach Belt Conference Runner of the Week as announced by the league office Tuesday afternoon.
Hammond finished in fourth place at the UNG XC Invitational on Saturday, helping the Nighthawks to win the event. The senior from Cumming, Georgia, ran the 5K course in 19:28.1, less than five seconds out from third place. Running in a field of 102, Hammond had an average mile time of 6:15.9 and her time is the fourth-fastest 5K run in the PBC this season. Hammond and the Nighthawks will be back in action on Friday night at the Wingfoot XC Classic. Race time is 7:20 p.m. |
