8th District Representative Stan Gunter
(Atlanta)-– The Georgia House of Representatives Committee on Assignments has named State Representative Stan Gunter of Blairsville as the Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee.
Gunter said, “I appreciate the confidence that Speaker Burns and the Committee on Assignments have in me there will be much work to be done this session, and I am excited to get started.” The Judiciary Committee considers a wide variety of measures relating to law, courts and judges, and constitutional amendments.
Any legislation that carries a possibility for civil penalties can be referred to the Judiciary Committee. Representative Stan Gunter represents the citizens of District 8, which covers Towns and Union counties, as well as portions of White County.
