Geraldine H. Rodda, age 89, of Demorest, Georgia passed away peacefully at her home on September 17, 2023.
Born September 4, 1934, in Hancock County, Sneedville, Tennessee to Henry A. and Mollie C. Humphries. Geraldine “Gerry” lived a full and successful life.
After graduating from Cumberland High School in Cumberland, Kentucky in 1952. She attended Western Kentucky University, University of Florida and Hofstra University in Hampstead, New York. Upon completion of her Master’s Degree, she then pursued her career as an Elementary School Music Teacher. After many devoted years of teaching, she retired and eventually left New York to move to Georgia and make it her final earthly home.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Mollie and Henry Humphries, of Cleveland, GA; a brother, Raymond A Humphrey, of Benham, KY; sisters, Betty Boggs, of Cleveland, GA; Sheila Blalock, of Gainesville, GA; her very special companion of over 20 years, Lou Camassa, Sr., of Nesconset, NY; a nephew, Patrick Humphrey, of Houston, TX and a niece, Mary Boggs Bishop, of Cleveland.
She is survived by four nephews, Hubert “Bubby” Boggs (Donna), of Berea, KY; Jay (Kelli) Blalock, of Gainesville, GA; Steve (Tammy) Blalock, of Alto; Mike (Crystal) Blalock, of Cleveland; three nieces, Patsy Funk and Kathy (Carl) Couch, of Cleveland, GA; Cindy Humphrey, of Benham, KY; five great nephews, nine great nieces, ten great, great-nephews, five great, great-nieces, ten great, great, great-nephews, and one great, great, great-niece.
She was loved by all who knew her and leaves to mourn her passing her “special family” Lou, Jr., Kenny, and Wayne Camassa, Patti Stoddard, their children and grandchildren of New York; and also, special friends, Ann, Debbie, Debra and Sadie as well as the neighbors of Legacy Woods Community of Demorest, Georgia.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
