(Cleveland)-White County election officials as directed by the state today began the risk-limiting audit for the November 3rd  General Election.  White County Chief Voter Registrar Lisa Manning said they began the process  Friday morning at 9 am. Manning said, “ we counted the absentee ballots and were finished by 11:00 AM.”

Georgia  Secretary of State’s office ordered all counties to begin their audit Friday morning and the counties must finish their recounts by 11:59 pm on Wednesday, November 18.

According to Manning, they will continue the process Monday morning at 9 am. “ At that time we will count the advance voting ballots and plan to count the election day ballots on Tuesday, “ said Manning.  

As prescribed by Georgia law, the Secretary of State’s office will then certify statewide election results after completion of the audit, by November 20.
