(DAHLONEGA) – Four University of North Georgia softball players earn Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) Southeast All-Region honors. Tybee DentonSophie MooneyJolie Lester and Sydney Blair earned honors after helping the second-ranked Nighthawks to a 57-6 record and a spot in the Southeast Super Regional.

Tybee Denton takes home first-team honors, owning a record of 18-1 on the season and a 2.09 ERA, holding her opponents to a .170 batting average. Denton earns her second first-team All-Region selection of the year, previously taking home honors for the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) adding first-team All-Conference honors from the Peach Belt Conference.

Sophie Mooney receives all-region honors as a pitcher/designated player after earning a 9-2 record with a 1.89 ERA, second in the PBC, and holding batters to a .158 opposing batting average while hitting .435 from the plate with 62 RBIs and 10 home runs. Mooney earned second-team honors from the NFCA and first-team honors from the PBC already this season.

Jolie Lester picks up second-team honors after recording a .398 batting average, scoring 52 runs and leading the PBC in doubles with 19 from the leadoff spot. Lester leads off for one of the nation’s top offenses, helping the Nighthawks lead NCAA DII in runs scored and rank fourth in hits. Lester adds the All-Region honors to her first-team All-Conference selection from the PBC in 2023.

Sydney Blair adds to a successful freshman season, earning second-team honors, owning a .415 batting average with 61 hits and a .463 on-base percentage. Blair earned first-team honors from the PBC and NFCA this season as a part of one the best outfields in the NCAA DII.

The Nighthawks led the southeast region in selections with four, tying with Francis Marion. The four selections led the PBC, with Columbus State receiving two selections and Georgia Southwestern one.
