(Cleveland)- White County Board of Commissioners has signed a proclamation that recognizes the agriculture community and the part it plays in the county’s economy. Prior to reading the proclamation during last Monday’s commission meeting Commission Chairman Travis Turner said, “Farming and agriculture is still the number one economic engine for White County, yes Tourism is second, but it’s an opportunity to recognize this community and what it does for us.”
Included in the resolution Turner said the farming community contributes $108-milliion dollars to White County’s economy.
The resolution designates November 21st – 29th as Farm-City Week in White County.
