(Cleveland)- White County Superintendent of Schools Dr. Laurie Burkett says she is ” super excited”  about this Friday and the start of a new, and what will be a challenging, school year.

Burkett along with Cindy Free,  Director of School Improvement, joined Dean Dyer Wednesday morning on Local News Radio for a discussion about school operation.

Dr. Burkett said that teachers have been at school since August 4th and have used the extra five days of pre-planning to get comfortable with new processes and procedures.

Free along with Jennifer King have been coordinating the Digital Distance Learning.  Free said the administrators at every school worked really hard to redo their master schedules and make sure each student had what they needed.

Burkett says they have a process in place to deal with positive COVID-19 cases and they’ve practiced that.
