(CCity Cleveland Logo colorleveland)- The City of Cleveland could possibly start licensing businesses to sell distilled spirits and sell of alcohol on Sunday by the first of the year.  That was what the Cleveland  city council heard last night.  City Clerk Connie Tracas told the council they are working on a few changes that are needed in  the current alcohol ordinance and with the approval of that the city could start issuing licenses.

“ We figured that we could have something for review starting  in December and hopefully start issuing licenses the first of January, “  said Tracas.

The council was told last night that the proposed fees for  Distilled Spirits license would be $2,500 and Sunday sales license would be $650 annually.

Cleveland Police Chief John Foster said that the monitoring of the new sales will be the same and no new training will be required by businesses or officers.
