Dennis James, age 69, of Homer, passed away on Monday, April 1, 2024.

Born on January 16, 1955, in Commerce, he was a son of the late Clarence James and Velma Mae Christian James.  Mr. James owned and operated TZB Bread Inc. for 45 years before retiring, and was of the Baptist faith.  He enjoyed NASCAR, and racing in general, farming, and working with equipment.  He loved his family dearly, especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Hugh William James, and a sister, Marie James.

Survivors include wife of 51 years, Shirley Ward James of Homer; son and daughter-in-law, Allan James (Kyllie) of Cornelia; daughter and son-in-law, Tonya Blair (Wayne Wade) of Homer; grandchildren, Tyler Blair, Zack James, and Bethany James; great grandchildren, Briggs Blair, and Ryan Miller; sisters, Linda James and Mary Sue James both of Ila; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services are 2 pm on Friday, April 5, 2024, in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Doug Duncan and Rev. Mike Wilson officiating.  Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens with Rev. Bill Manus officiating.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 pm on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at the funeral home.
